Istanbul Technical University Honors Prof. Dr. Gülşen Cebiroğlu Eryiğit for International Technology Licensing Achievement

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) has honored Prof. Dr. Gülşen Cebiroğlu Eryiğit, a member of the ITU Natural Language Processing Group, for her outstanding academic and technological contribution in the field of text processing.

Within the scope of a project focusing on the perception and processing of human language by machines, Prof. Dr. Eryiğit’s work enabled a technology developed at ITU to be licensed abroad for the first time from Turkey, through the ITU NOVA Technology Transfer Office.

The university emphasized that this achievement not only represents a significant milestone for Turkish academia and technology transfer, but also brings international recognition to ITU. Prof. Dr. Eryiğit was congratulated for her contribution, and best wishes were extended for the continued success of her academic career.

The certificate of appreciation was presented by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, Rector of Istanbul Technical University, and is dated 27 December 2016.

ITU NLP Team Attended CICLing 2016 the 17th International Conference on intelligent Text Processing and Computational Linguistics at Konya.  They also attended The First International Conference on Turkic Computational Linguistics (TurCLing 2016), which was held in conjunction with CICLing 2016.

İTÜ NLP Team Attended ACL-IJCNLP student workshop which was held in conjunction with Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) in Beijing, China. 

İTÜ NLP Team Attended The 9th Linguistic Annotation Workshop and The 11th Workshop on Multiword Expression at NACCL in Colorado, USA.

İTÜ NLP Team Attended In Proceedings of the Demonstrations and 5th Workshop on Language Analysis for Social Media (LASM) at the 14th Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL 2014) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

İTÜ NLP Team Attended Turkish Informatics Foundation Computer Science and Engineering Journal (Special Issue on NLP) which was held by TURKLANG in İstanbul Turkey.

İTÜ NLP Team Attended In Proceedings of the Tenth Symposium on Natural Language Processing (SNLP-2013), in Phuket, Thailand.

İTÜ NLP Team Attended In Proceedings of the SPMRL 2013 (4th Workshop on Statistical Parsing of Morphologically Rich Languages), EMNLP 2013 in Seattle, USA.
